See PropertiesArea Guide to Abbey Wood
Abbey Wood is named after ancient woods that surround Lesnes Abbey (founded in 1178). Abbey Wood is located in South East London within the London Borough of Bexley. Over the last few years the area has been a popular area to invest in. This uplift is largely due to the new Cross-Rail connection on the Elizabeth Line which will get you into Central London in around 25 minutes, which will be ready by the early 2020’s.
Things To Do
Abbey Woods has a number of green parks and sports pitches. One of which is Abbey Wood Park which combines three public open spaces all next to each other.
A popular spot is Lesnes Abbey, this former Abbey is great for walks and picnics. Bostall Woods is also a great outdoors space for mountain bikers, dog walkers and family walks. These woods are also a well known source of animal fossils mainly sharks teeth!
For a good English breakfast, we would recommend the Abbey Café. The Abbey Arms is a welcoming traditional pub serving Real Ales and sour-dough Pizzas in the week and roasts on a Sunday.
Abbey Woods also has a popular Caravan Park, home of the “Abbey Wood Caravan Club” which is open to caravans, campers and motorhomes. The site itself is ideal for families, with plenty of facilities on-site to make your stay a comfortable one.
